Thursday, October 28

Witches on Water, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m., Number One Pond. All witches and wizards of Sanford, grab your paddle boards and kayaks and put on your best witch costume for some floating, dusk til dark.

Spooktacular Trick or Treat Walk Thru, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., Margaret Chase Smith School. Open to students of MCS and Sanford Pride Elementary Schools and their families.

Mysteries by Maine Authors: The Poacher’s Son by Paul Doiron, 6:00 p.m., Springvale Library, 443 Main St. This is the final book discussion in the series led by a scholar from the Maine Humanities Council.

Haunted Woods 2021: Welcome to the Circus, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Gowen Park. $5 per person, not recommended for small children. Make your reservation (required) here. This is a student-run event, all proceeds will support the JMG program at Sanford Middle School. Rain date October 29.

Friday, October 29

Trick or Treat at Goodall Library, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., 952 Main St. Wear a costume, get candy and paint a Halloween ornament!

CJL PTA Trick or Treating, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Carl J. Lamb School. Open to CJL students and their families.

Saturday, October 30

Spooky Sprint 5K Family Fun Run/Walk, Sanford-Springvale YMCA, 1 Emile Levasseur Dr. Go to sanfordymca.com or call 324-4942 to register.

Harvest Party, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., Mercy Chapel, 1861 Main St. Games, activities, prizes, fellowship, fun. Open to all.

Live at the Little Theatre, 4:00 – 11:00 p.m., Nasson Little Theatre, 457 Main St. Live, local, original music from Lethal Creed, Black Headdress, Abner II, Witch Trot, Paul Jarvis, Wired for Sound and King’s Petition. $10, all ages. Masks required, Halloween costumes encouraged!

Maine Band Directors’ Association Marching Band Finals, 5:00 p.m., Alumni Stadium, 100 Alumni Blvd. Ten bands from Maine and NH will compete. Sanford is scheduled to take the field at 5:30. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students or senior citizens. There is a $30 max for families of 4.

Trunk or Treat, 5:00 – 7:30 p.m., Curtis Lake Church, 38 Westview Dr. Sanford’s ultimate Halloween event returns! Open to all.

Sunday, October 31

Flight or Fright, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Pilot’s Cove Café at Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport. Kids can enjoy a trip out to the tarmac to trick-or-treat from airplane, to biplane, to helicopter, to gyrocopter and more! Meet some local pilots, see some very cool aircraft and give the kids a memory they won’t forget!
