Indigenous Peoples’ Day. All City offices and both libraries will be closed. Trash pickup will be done as usual.

Pick for ME, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., McDougal Orchards, 201 Hanson Ridge Rd. For every bag of apples you pick and purchase, pick a second bag and they will donate it to the York County Shelter Programs.

Municipal Operations and Property Subcommittee, 8:30 a.m. via Zoom. The agenda includes discussions on the use of municipal labor and equipment to maintain private roads, findings from the Rail Trail Task Force report, expenditure of Downtown Legacy funds, and more.

Public Safety Subcommittee, 11:00 a.m. via Zoom. The agenda includes the introduction of a new police officer, discussion of road closures for Holly Daze event, review of proposed amendment to Parking ordinance, and more.

Zoning Subcommittee, 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. The agenda includes a preliminary report on ownership of single family housing in consideration of vacation rental policy question, update on development permitting, and discussion on the proposed zoning change for the Townhouse solar project.

Music on the Patio with Zac Stearn, noon to 1:00 p.m., Springvale Library, 443 Main St. Zac is the artistic director of the Schoolhouse Arts Center in Standish, and will display his musical chops as a piano player and singer.

Saturday, October 16

2nd Annual Harvest Dinner to Go, 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., Sanford First Baptist Church, 905 Main St. $10 per person for turkey dinner with gravy, stuffing, squash, carrots, turnip, peas & fresh baked apple crisp.
