School Committee, 6:00 pm, City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St. and via Zoom. The agenda includes discussion of the two options for future scheduling at SHS/SRTC, reports on Special Education enrollments and staffing, and other items.

Tuesday, November 15

Site Plan Review Committee, 9:00 am, City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St. and via Zoom. The agenda includes a request for waiver of minimum separation distance between curb cuts for a property at 15 Beulah St. where a modular home built by SRTC students will be located; and an application to develop two condominiums built on an existing foundation on property owned by Coastal Oaks, LLC at 18 Witham St.

Free Lunch, noon – 1:00 pm (and every Tuesday), Sunset Tower, 941 Main St. All are welcome.

Bingo, Sanford Elks Lodge, 13 Elm St. Doors open at 4:00 pm and games start at 6:00. Must be 18 to play.

City Council, 6:00 pm, City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St., and via Zoom. The agenda includes public hearings and possible approval of changes to the ordinances on Smoking and Tobacco Use; Parks, Schools, Malls and Cemeteries; and Sanford Drug Free Zone. A proposed Knox Box Ordinance for Multi-Unit Residential Buildings is also on the agenda, as well as a review of the Rail Trail and other items.

Wednesday, November 16

Friends of Downtown biweekly meeting, 4:30 pm. Location TBA (usually Frannie’s Mini Donuts). All who are interested in helping to promote revitalization of Sanford’s downtown are welcome.

Wednesday Night Bite Free Community Meal, 6:00 – 7:00 pm, Curtis Lake Church, 38 Westview Dr. Open to all.

The meeting may be followed by a work session on mineral extraction.

RAISE Grant Open House, 3:00 – 5:00 pm, City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St. Information about the RAISE Grant downtown reconstruction projects will be on display, and City officials will be on hand to answer questions.

RAISE Grant Public Hearing, 6:00 – 8:30 pm, City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St. City officials will make a presentation and hear public comment on the RAISE Grant downtown reconstruction projects. The hearing will be televised/streamed and recorded for later viewing.

5K/10K Turkey Trot & 1 Mile Dog Jog/Walk, 8:00 am registration, 9:00 am start time, Veterans Memorial Gym, 678 Main St. (Dog is optional for the one-mile race!) Gift card prizes for winners and fun raffles. All the info and registration links are here.

Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Farmers’ Market, 8:00 am – noon, Central Park, 920 Main St.

Annual Christmas Fair, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, First Baptist Church of Springvale, 429 Main St. Weather permitting, this will be an indoor AND outdoor event. As always there will be wreaths, crafts, breakfast and lunch, a bake sale with cookies, and lots of treasures for you to purchase!
