Tim, a Maine Park Ranger for 32 years, is a storyteller and author who has spent his life in Maine’s outdoors. Discover the birth place of Disney’s Bambi, northern forest ice caves, an abandoned railroad, oceanic whirlpools and more. Advance registration not required.

Harry’s Community Event, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 432 Alfred Rd. Harry’s joins with Sanford’s own TROPICAL CARIBBEAN to introduce a divine twist to authentic Jamaican food. This event is family-friendly with food, music, and prizes! They will have have t-shirts and gas cards to raffle out! Come try some amazing food (sampling and purchase available), sit and enjoy at their picnic tables.

Saturday, May 14

Letter Carriers’ Food Drive. The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its 30th annual national food drive. The Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive, the country’s largest single-day food drive, provides residents with an easy way to donate food to those in need in the community. To participate, simply leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods next to your mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery. Your letter carrier will take care of the rest.

Color Fun Run, Carl J. Lamb School, 233 Shaw’s Ridge Rd. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., races begin at 9:30. Open to ALL Sanford children in grades Pre-K to 8. Concessions, music and fun! Registration $10. Pre-register here. Proceeds go to CJL PTA.

Fifty Cent Clothing Sale, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., St. George’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 3 Emerson St. Warm weather clothing only, fifty cents per item.

Living Innovations Yard Sale, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 312 Cottage St., Suite A. Fundraiser to help send a team to the Summer Games. Continues on Sunday, 5/15. Rain dates 5/21 and 5/22.

ATV Safety Course, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Nasson Community Center, 457 Main St. Course will teach how to properly operate and maintain an ATV. Laws, responsibilities and personal safety will also be covered. Passage of a final exam is required. Total course is 6 hours. Register here. Honor in Stone Fundraiser to help support the cost of monuments at Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Motorcycle ride from Iron Tails Saloon in Acton to the Cemetery for a ceremony, then returning to the saloon for raffles and a silent auction. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with kickstands up at 11:00.
