Monday, March 7

Red Cross Blood Drive, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Nasson Community Center, 457 Main St.

School Committee, 6:00 p.m., in person at City Hall Council Chambers and via Zoom. The agenda includes a vote on the Superintendent of Schools’ recommendation to make wearing of face masks optional for students and staff and a presentation by the School Department’s social workers, among other items.

Tuesday, March 8

Municipal Operations and Property Subcommittee, 8:30 a.m. via Zoom. The agenda includes a presentation from York County Community Action on transportation services in Sanford, a discussion on use of the auditorium at City Hall, and other items.

Public Safety Subcommittee, 11:00 a.m. via Zoom. The agenda includes updates from the Police Department as well as discussion of road closures for the Sanford Bike Fest in June.

Bingo, Sanford Elks Lodge, 13 Elm St. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and games start at 6:00. Must be 18 to play.

Matthew Meal to Go, 5:30-6:30 p.m., pasta with meat or meatless sauce, salad, bread, water and cookies. Free and open to all.

Wednesday, March 9

Land Bank Authority, 8:45 a.m. via Zoom. The agenda includes discussion of uses for American Rescue Plan Act funds.

Design Review Committee, 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. The agenda includes discussion of the renovations to the future Chamber of Commerce location at 510 Main St.

Thursday, March 10

Senior Food Mobile, 10:00 -11:30 a.m., Crossroads United Methodist Church, 15 Grammar Rd. For anyone over 60 years old in need of food assistance: produce for all, commodities for those who meet income eligibility requirements.

Budget Committee, 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. The agenda was not available at press time but is expected to include a presentation on the School Department budget. Zoom link here.

Friday, March 11

Mask-Free Party for Grades 5-8, 3:00-6:00 p.m., Nasson Community Center, 457 Main St. Volleyball, basketball, karaoke and refreshments, all free.

Lenten Haddock Dinner, 5:00-7:00 p.m., St. Ignatius Hall, 25 Riverside Ave. $12 Adults / $6 children under 12 (Maximum $35 per family).

Saturday, March 12

Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Sanford First Baptist Church, 905 Main St. (but use the Kimball St. entrance). Eat in or take out, Corned beef and Cabbage dinner with mashed potatoes, cabbage, carrots and turnip with home made apple crisp for dessert for $12.00. Reservations required.
