Monday, July 4

Independence Day Parade, 10:00 a.m., Main St. beginning at Malcom Ave. and ending at Gowen Park.

Fireworks Extravaganza, 9:00 p.m., Runaway at Pilot’s Cove Café, 199 Airport Rd. VIP tickets are sold out but the fireworks will be visible nearby.

Tuesday, July 5

Site Plan Review Committee, 9:00 a.m., Council Chambers, City Hall, 919 Main St. and via Zoom. The only item of new business on the agenda is a proposed 14-lot cluster subdivision on Sam Allen Rd.

Red Cross Blood Drive, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Nasson Community Center, 457 Main St.

Bingo, Sanford Elks Lodge, 13 Elm St. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and games start at 6:00. Must be 18 to play.

City Council, 6:00 p.m., Council Chambers, City Hall, 919 Main St. and via Zoom. The agenda includes discussion of a policy regarding the display of flags on City property, the purchase of a natural gas generator for the Airport, and other items.

Wednesday, July 6

Military Appreciation Night at the Sanford Mainers game, 6:00 p.m., Goodall Park, 32 Roberts St. See this story for more info.

Planning Board, 6:30 p.m., Council Chambers, City Hall, 919 Main St. and via Zoom. The agenda includes a hearing on a proposed amendment to the zoning ordinance regarding front yard setbacks, and a proposal for a 14-lot cluster subdivision on Sam Allen Rd.

Thursday, July 7

Senior Food Mobile, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., Crossroads United Methodist Church, 15 Grammar Rd. For anyone over 60 years old in need of food assistance: produce for all, commodities for those who meet income eligibility requirements.

Friday, July 8

Annual Summer Yard Sale, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., First Baptist Church of Springvale, 429 Main St. Gigantic yard sale, baked goods and food concessions.

Music on the Patio with Down Two Earth, noon, Springvale Library, 443 Main St. Wayne Smith and Paula Durgin-McGinnis will entertain with blues, folk-rock and country favorites. Free.

Saturday, July 9

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser for Women Veterans’ Glamping, 7:00-11:00 a.m., Sanford Elks Lodge, 13 Elm St. One plate, by donation.

Sanford ATV Club Poker Run, 9:00 a.m., starting at The Depot, 146 Pleasant St., Springvale.

Annual Summer Yard Sale continues, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., First Baptist Church of Springvale, 429 Main St. Gigantic yard sale, baked goods and food concessions.

Saturday Night Improv, 7:00 p.m., Nasson Little Theatre, 457 Main St. Presented by Stranger Than Fiction, New Hampshire’s premier improv troupe. Pre-order tickets are $12, or purchase at the door for $15.
