Monday, January 30

School Committee Budget Workshop, 4:00 pm, City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St. This is an IN-PERSON meeting, no Zoom will be available. School Committee Workshops are open to the public. This meeting will be shown on Channel 26 locally and live-streamed at Town Hall Streams and on YouTube, and recorded for later viewing. The agenda includes an overview of School Department revenue.

January Thaw, 5:30 to 8:00 pm, Kai Asian Fusion, 459 Main St. Come in from the cold and join Sanford-Springvale Rotarians for this fundraiser to benefit the unhoused in the Sanford-Springvale area. Bring at least one warm clothing item as a donation. Admission fee of $30 covers one free signature drink and complimentary sampling of all food choices. For tickets email RotarySS.ME@gmail.com.

School Committee Audit Workshop, 5:30 pm, Central Office, 2nd Floor, City Hall Annex, 919 Main St. This is an IN-PERSON meeting, no Zoom will be available. School Committee Workshops are open to the public. This workshop will not be streamed or recorded. The agenda includes a report from auditor Christian Smith of Wipfli.

Auditions for Two Acts of Spring, 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Nasson Little Theatre, 457 Main St. Nasson Youth Theater will present two spring shows, Knock Knock and Hoodie. Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one, although they are not required. Also bring a two-minute reading, or one will be provided. In addition to actors, they are looking for stage hands, set builders, techs, etc. Target age is 9-18. For more info, email nytnasson@gmail.com.

Tuesday, January 31

City Council, 5:00 pm, City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St., and via Zoom. The agenda for this special meeting includes a presentation on the Wage and Classification Study that was performed for the City, and adoption of the plan for non-union employees. This meeting and the workshop that follows will be shown on Channel 26 locally and live-streamed at Town Hall Streams and on YouTube, and recorded for later viewing.

City Council Budget Work Session, 6:30 pm, City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St., and via Zoom. This is a budget work session of the City Council and not a business meeting of the City
Council. The meeting is open to the public but is not a public hearing. The agenda includes an overview of the major components comprising the municipal commitment and establishing the mill rate, and an overview of the fiscal year 2024 municipal operating and capital budget.

SMAA Cheerleading Regionals, time TBA, Sanford High School, 100 Alumni Blvd. Come lend your support to our Spartans Cheering squad!

Images of Love, 7:30 pm, Sanford-Springvale Historical Museum, Maine’s pre-eminent Violin/Piano Duo returns to Springvale for this show. Violinist Ronald Lantz, a founding member of the Portland String Quartet and pianist Laura Kargul, Director of Keyboard Studies at the University of Southern Maine, will offer an evening of romantic music just in time for a night out with your Valentine. The evening will feature music by Mendelssohn, Beethoven and many other composers. As always, there will be free refreshments during the intermission. Admission is $20 for ages 18 and older, children admitted free. Reserve your tickets by emailing harlandeastman@gmail.com.
