Monday, February 14

School Committee Budget Workshop, 4:00 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers and via Zoom. This meeting is to finalize the proposed 2022-2023 budget that will be adopted at the February 28 School Committee meeting and presented to the Budget Committee on March 3. The agenda with Zoom link is here.

Tuesday, February 15

Bingo, Sanford Elks Lodge, 13 Elm St. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and games start at 6:00. Must be 18 to play.

City Council, 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. The agenda includes a presentation on the proposed 2022-23 municipal budget, and a review and vote on extending the Emergency Temporary Policy for Masking in municipal facilities, among other items.

York County Commissioners, 4:30 p.m., York County Government Building, 149 Jordan Springs Rd., Alfred, and via Zoom. The agenda includes discussion of ARPA funds, recognition of Lori Marks as 2022 Corrections Officer of the Year, and other items.

Free Food Distribution, 3:30-5:00 p.m., Sanford High School parking lot, 100 Alumni Blvd. Over 100,000 pounds of food to be distributed, including cheese, butter, canned goods, dry goods, fresh produce and personal care items. Open to all York County residents. Sponsored by Sanford Backpack Program, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Good Shepherd Food Bank and Tom’s of Maine.

Saturday, February 19

Winterfest 2022, Number One Pond and Gowen Park. Kids’ ice fishing derby plus other activities. See all the details here.

Republican Party Caucus, 10:00 a.m. to noon, Memorial Gym, 678 Main St. The Sanford Republican Committee will be hosting the biennial caucus for Sanford, Lebanon, and Acton. The caucus will elect executive committee officials, delegates to the York County Republican Committee from each municipality, and delegates to the Maine Republican Convention to be held in May. Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. for sign-in. The City Clerk and/or representatives will be present at this caucus. All individuals who would like to enroll as Republicans will be eligible to attend the caucus.

Sunday, February 20

12th Annual Square Pond Fishing Derby, 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Registration and fish check-in will be on West Shore Dr., Acton. Fundraiser by Sanford Elks in support of the Maine Children’s Cancer Program. More info here.
