Monday, December 7: Red Cross Blood Drive
The Nasson Community Center will host a blood drive from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At press time, there were still appointments available for Power Red donors.
Monday, December 7: School Committee
The School Committee will meet via Zoom at 6:00 p.m. Among the items on the agenda, Athletic Director Gordie Salls will have an update on winter sports. The full agenda, with instructions for public access, is here.
Tuesday, December 8: City Council
The City Council will meet via Zoom at 6:00 p.m. Among the items on the agenda will be a Public Works Department presentation on the 2020 construction season and more; and a proposed amendment to the Animal Control ordinance to increase the fees for reclaiming impounded dogs. Wednesday, December 9: Red Cross Blood Drive
Masons Preble Lodge #143 at 16 Elm St. will host a blood drive from noon to 5:00 p.m. At press time, there were many open appointments for both whole blood and Power Red donors. Call 1-800-RED-CROSS to make an appointment.
Wednesday, December 9: Coping with Covid: Moving into winter Maine Strong!
This virtual presentation and conversation focuses on addressing Covid-19 stresses and building resilience as we move into winter and face the holidays. The presentation at 6:00 p.m. is open to anyone but will focus on veterans and their families. Sponsored by NAMI Maine, The Maine Suicide Prevention Program, The Sanford Vet Center and Seeds of Hope. Wednesday, December 9: Design Review Committee

Saturday, December 12: Free For All: The Mallett Brothers Band
The Mallett Brothers Band is an independent rock and roll / Americana / country band from Maine. Since forming in 2009 they have built a dedicated fanbase across the U.S. and beyond, while still calling the state of Maine their home. They will take to the stage at the Sanford Performing Arts Center at 7:00 p.m. for a free livestreamed concert to be broadcast by WSSR-TV. Access the livestream here.
