A Family for ME: Live Q & A Sessions, noon and 6:00 pm via Zoom. In these live, virtual Foster Care/Adoption Q & A sessions, A Family for ME will share everything you need to know about becoming a licensed foster parent in Maine, and answering any questions you may have. These informational gatherings will include an overview of foster care, the steps of the licensing process, who the key players are, and Maine’s needs for resource families. Municipal Operations and Property Subcommittee, 8:30 am via Zoom. The agenda includes information on a new online service to request vital records; consideration of a bid for the reconstruction of River St.; and discussion of an Engineering Field Inspector/Resident Engineer position for the Public Works Department.

Public Safety Subcommittee, 11:00 am via Zoom. The agenda includes discussion of a Police Department Historian; Police Department updates; and Fire Department update on emergency call-outs.
Zoning Subcommittee, 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. The agenda includes review of the Residential Chicken Overlay Zone Map for direction on potential modifications, and an executive session on economic development matters.
Wednesday, December 14
Land Bank Commission, 8:45 am via Zoom. The agenda includes discussion of Land Bank properties and process.

Design Review Committee, 6:00 pm via Zoom. The agenda includes review of a new sign for the Wolves Club, a sign for a new cell phone store at the Main Street Marketplace, and a exterior renovations at 836 Main St.

Thursday, December 15
Holiday Art Show, 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Great Bay Services, 61 Washington St., Suite 4. Explore artistic creations and meet some of the artists who are participants in the Sanford program.
Third Thursday Free Supper, 5:30 – 6:30 pm, North Parish Church, 893 Main St. All are welcome.
Sanford High School Winter Concert, 6:00 – 7:30 pm, Sanford Performing Arts Center, 100 Alumni Blvd.
Saturday, December 17
Corner Cupboard, 10:00 am – noon, Sanford Unitarian Universalist Church, 5 Lebanon St. Non-food essential item pantry offering personal care products, paper goods, cleaning supplies, household items and baby needs. All are welcome.
Wreaths Across America, Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 83 Stanley Rd. Opening ceremony at noon, followed by the placing of the wreaths to honor each veteran. Due to limited parking, shuttle bus service will be available from Sanford Pride Elementary School, 708 Main St. Shuttle service starts at 9:30 am, the last shuttle to the Cemetery will be at 11:30 am.
A Child’s Christmas at Goodall Library, 2:00 pm, 952 Main St. Children’s Librarian, Miss Lexi, will share one or two Christmas stories with the group, and then kids can each paint their own ornament to take home. Suggested for ages 4 and up. If you have any questions please reach out to the library at 207-324-4714.
ScroogeFest, 7:00 – 11:00 pm, Pilot’s Cove Café, 199 Airport Rd. A Christmas Carol themed holiday party like no other! With light show and music by DJ Metrix. Food available until 9:00 pm, bar open until 11:00 pm. Which Scrooge will you be?
Ugly Sweater Party, Mill Towne Tavern, 8:00 pm – midnight. Wear your ugliest, most original Christmas sweater and listen to live music from The Cover Tones. Cash prizes for the ugliest Christmas sweater!
Sunday, December 18
Santa Is Coming to Pilot’s Cove, noon – 4:00 pm, Pilot’s Cove Café, 199 Airport Rd. Bring the kids to visit and take pictures with Santa while you eat lunch and watch the planes take off.
Mini Mall for Kids, 1:00 – 3:00 pm, North Parish Church, 893 Main St. Kids can shop for a present, wrap it and make a card, then enjoy some hot cocoa and marshmallows. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Tea & coffee will be available in the café for adults.
