School Committee, 6:30 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers, 919 Main St., and via Zoom. The agenda includes an update on the Pre-K expansion, report from the Dropout Prevention Committee, details of the virtual art show and spring testing schedule.

Tuesday, April 26

Bingo, Sanford Elks Lodge, 13 Elm St. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and games start at 6:00. Must be 18 to play.

City Council Budget Workshop, 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. This is a work session of the Council, not a business meeting. The agenda includes the Zoom link and details of the municipal budget.

Wednesday, April 17

11th Annual York County Regional Job Fair, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., National Guard Armory, 88 William Oscar Emery Dr. Please note this is a change of venue from previous years. More details here.

Friday, April 29

Moana Jr., 6:30 p.m., Sanford Performing Arts Center, 100 Alumni Blvd. Sanford Middle School presents a 60-minute musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film.

Saturday, April 30

12th Annual Bowl-a-Thon for Veterans, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Bowl-a-Rama, 1217 Main St. Teams can bowl for one to six hours. Challenge your friends and coworkers! There will be hourly prize drawings and free pizza afterward. Pre-registration ($10 per person, includes bowling and shoes) suggested but not required. Sponsored by Rolling Thunder. Bike Tune-Up Day, for ages 10 to adult, 10:00 a.m., Goodall Library, 952 Main St. Bring your bike to the library and work on it with assistance from the Bicycle Coalition Of Maine. Pre-registration required at (207) 324-4714.

Healthy Kids Day, 10:00 a.m. to noon, Sanford-Springvale YMCA, 1 Emile Levasseur Dr. This free event is open to the public and will feature YMCA staff and area organizations offering kids crafts, DIY healthy snacks, DIY spring plants, a basketball shoot-off, lifeguard for the day photos, a buoy toss competition and more.

ATV Safety Course, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Nasson Community Center, 457 Main St. Course by Maine Dept. of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will teach how to properly operate and maintain an ATV. Laws, responsibilities and personal safety will also be covered. Passage of a final exam is required. Total course is 6 hours. More information and register here.

Bean Supper, 5:00-6:30 p.m., Crossroads United Methodist Church, 15 Grammar Rd. Adults $8, children 3-12 $3, under 3 free. Two kinds of beans, chop suey, cole slaw, ham, hot dogs, brown bread, ice cream and brownies.

St. Thomas Spring Fever Fair, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., St. Ignatius Gym, 25 Riverside Ave. Featuring a large selection of yard sale items, children’s crafts, special prizes, jewelry table, themed baskets to raffle, food, major raffles, plant table, a penny auction table and more. Hanna Powell Memorial Piano Competition and Portland Piano Trio, Sanford Performing Arts Center, 100 Alumni Blvd. Celebrate Maine’s brightest young pianists. Seven performers, ages 15-30 who live or study in Maine, will be competing for cash prizes beginning at noon. A concert by the Portland Piano Trio will follow the competition at 3:00 p.m. The program will include Haydn’s Piano Trio No. 39 in G, Esmail’s Piano Trio and Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in D Minor. One affordable ticket is valid for both events! Adult tickets are $12 each. Student and senior tickets are just $8. Purchase tickets here.
