Press Release
The City of Sanford’s Arts Commission has a new banner to advertise Second Friday Art Walks. The next event is coming up on Friday, Sept. 8. Look for the banner at the corner of Main and Washington Streets. The banner was generously funded by Benjamin and Sarah Meggs and was designed by Devine Design. “Everything starts with downtown revitalization and the arts are the most important piece of the puzzle,” stated Benjamin Meggs.
The art walks are in full swing, bringing community together to celebrate the skill and diversity of over 35 creative people from the area: henna artists, face-painters, jewelers, painters, potters, printmakers, photographers, seamstresses, textile artists and digital artists. There’s also music and food vendors.
If you’re an artist or entertainer interested in participating, join us on the 900 block of Main Street and around City Hall from 4 pm to 7 pm on September 8. Participants are encouraged to set up by 4. For more details, or if you’d like to be included on the artist contact list for future arts events, email SAC Chair, artist/teacher Evelyn at evelynnitzbergart1@gmail.com. For more information about the Sanford Arts Commission see the City of Sanford website, sanfordmaine.org.
