The Sanford-Springvale YMCA’s Camp Marland is taking registrations now for their summer camp for kids entering kindergarten through ninth grade. There are 11 one-week sessions beginning June 14 and ending August 27.
The main Camp, for boys and girls entering second through seventh grades, is located on 30 acres at Bunganut Lake Park in Lyman. In addition to the lake, this location boasts miles of hiking trails, a historic ampitheater, volleyball courts, recreation fields and the Camp Marland Mansion. Campers will be split up into four cohorts – boys entering second and third grade, girls entering second and third grade, boys entering fourth and fifth grade, and girls entering fourth and fifth grade.
Camp Mini-Marland is for kids entering kindergarten and first grade. This camp is located at the main YMCA facility in Sanford, and will utilize the adjacent Mousam Way Trail and Mousam River. Daily pool time will be included, as well as all sorts of outdoor activities.
Camp Marland Mentors is a new program for campers entering eighth and ninth grades. In this program, Mentors will be paired with younger campers, to support them in a variety of learning activities and opportunities, supervised by a member of the camp staff.
Each week has a theme, including Magnificent Maine Week, Welcome to the Jungle week and Dr. Suess week.
Transportation to Bunganut Lake Park from the YMCA is available. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Regular camp hours will be 9:00 to 3:30 Monday through Friday, but pre-camp beginning at 6:00 a.m. and post-camp ending at 6:00 p.m. are available.
Fees are $130 per week for Monday, Wednesday & Friday (nonmembers $135); $170 for Monday through Friday (nonmembers $175) and $100 per week for Mentors (nonmembers $125). Financial assistance is available, and there are prepayment and multi-child discounts.
