Feel the love this Valentine’s season with a special Valentine weekend concert performance on Sunday, Feb. 16, featuring Laura Kargul, pianist and Callie Brennan, violinist.
Laura Kargul has been a frequent performer at the Sanford-Springvale Historical Society. She has been on the faculty of the University of Southern Maine School of Music as the Director of Keyboard Studies since 1989. Her collaborative work includes performances with ensembles such as the Portland String Quartet, the Lark String Quartet, the Da Ponte String Quartet, and the Michigan Chamber Strings. Her experience as a world-class pianist has earned her critical acclaim in venues across Europe and the United States.
Callie Brennan was raised in Maine and received her bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the University of Colorado. She has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, collaborated with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and recorded a film soundtrack at Abbey Road Studios. She has also performed in Spain, Scotland, Italy and France. Callie has an extensive background in chamber music and has also trained with the Portland String Quartet, where she is currently holding a position.

Tickets are required for ages 18 and up. Children are admitted at no charge. Tickets may also be purchased at the door just prior to the event, by calling 207-490-1028, or emailing pviolette@sanfordhistory.org.
