Soccer – Pete Levasseur Fall Classic

Some 130 soccer teams from across Maine and New Hampshire converged on Sanford last weekend for the Pete Levasseur Fall Classic. In this photo, Sanford’s U14 team, in red, squares off against Brewer. Sanford’s U12 girls team made it to the finals, but lost to Maximum Velocity FC, according to tournament director Mike Reitan. Other winners were: U14 Boys: Saco; U13 Boys: Marshwood; U12 Boys: Westbrook; U14 Girls: Maximum Velocity FC; U13/U14 Girls: Bonny Eagle. Games were played on 16 fields across the city.
